Teen "Chopped" Competition

What: A cooking competition where teams of 3-4 will be paired up against one another to create a nutritious meal from locally grown food items. Teams will be made up of 3-4 youth, ages 13-19 (Sept. 1, 2019). They will be provided a grocery list of items that they will have to use, prior to the event. The day of the event, they will be provided with this grocery list as well as a “mystery ingredient”. The event will be timed, and their product then judged by a panel of judges. There will be an overall 1st place winner, with other potential categories, such as most creative and best presentation.

When: Oct. 2, 6-8 p.m. for initial meeting and Oct. 19, time TBD for the competition (will announce via email), additional meeting time for each team is expected – at least 2 meeting/practice sessions – dates and location are up to the discretion of the team.
