The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) National Collegiate Landscape Competition (NCLC) is an annual four-day event consisting of training workshops, a career fair, and competitions among students enrolled in horticulture and landscape programs from colleges and universities across the United States and Canada.  Last year the event was held in Provo, Utah, where nearly 700 students representing 60 schools competed in 28 different events covering various aspects of the landscape industry from plant identification and business management to landscape design and construction.  The event offers students the opportunity to hone their practical skills as they prepare for the workforce.  The team from MSU placed first and second in the country during 2016 and 2017, respectively (with many individual first-place winners); and has been in the Top-10 every year for nearly the past decade.

More than 20 MSU horticulture students will attend the event this year which will be held from March 14-17, 2018 in Graham, North Carolina.
