Understanding Pronouns - MSU Extension Section from the LBGT Resource Center

January 13, 2021 2:00PM - 3:30PM

This workshop is specifically for MSU Extension faculty and staff and space is limited.  If registration fills, you can attend another session open to all MSU faculty and staff (additional dates are on the Education & Resources page) or email Melissa Elischer (elischer@msu.edu) and she will schedule another MSU Extension session. I also encourage you to consider taking Quest: Building Capacity or LGBTA+ Inclusion, a self-paced, online training in D2L open to all MSU employees.

Understanding Pronouns with the LBGT Resource Center

Wednesday, January 13 from 2:00-3:30pm

Join us for a deep dive into pronouns! It can be difficult to speak without using pronouns. After all, we have been socialized and educated to use them. Despite the everyday use of pronouns, their impact on understanding gender expression and gender identity is often underestimated. In an effort to better serve our students and each other, please join the staff of the LBGT Resource Center for an in-depth look at pronouns. We will discuss how to ask for pronouns, how to share your own, what to do when you make a mistake, and why using “they” as a singular pronoun is not a new phenomenon! And, we will practice using they/them/theirs pronouns and other neo-pronouns.  To register please fill out this form
