World Food Prize Michigan Youth Institute presents: Exploring Food Security Around the World

March 7, 2018 8:45 - 10:45 a.m.

1279 Anthony Hall

Every night almost 1 billion people go to bed hungry.  How will we feed everyone in the year 2050 when the world population is 9 billion people?  Food security is a global issue that will require efforts from everyone to address.

Michigan 4-H & FFA members along with the public are invited to attend this program to learn about some of the challenges around the world that are creating food security issues as well as some of the solutions that are being implemented to address them.  This program will include a panel of invited MSU faculty and students to share research initiatives that MSU is engaged in around the globe to address food security issues.  The program will provide participants with a global perspective of world hunger and the work that is being done to address feeding a growing world population.

Through this introduction to global food security, 4-H & FFA members will be encouraged to explore how they can step up to help meet these challenges through the World Food Prize Michigan Youth Institute.
