MANAGE, or the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, is an autonomous extension and agribusiness management institute in India. MSU Extension has established a collaborative relationship with MANAGE. This relationship provides opportunities for MSU Extension and MANAGE to exchange information and experiences related to market-driven agriculture and global food systems. Focusing on a global view of agriculture while providing market opportunities for Michigan and India, this partnership strives to to enhance both organization's capacities to better serve the needs of market-oriented food and agricultural systems while providing staff with experiences in cross-cultural growth and collaboration. Below is a timeline of the relationship. 

 

2020

MSU Extension – MANAGE-India organized the joint international workshop “Pathways of Agricultural Extension for Enhancing Food and Nutritional Security and Development” from February 17 - 20, 2020 at MANAGE, Hyderabad, India.

This international workshop was attended by 70 extension officials and specialists from various states of India and representatives from public and private sectors and NGOs. Eleven MSU representatives attended the workshop and shared their experiences on various programs implemented in Michigan, and attended various educational site visits to learn about Indian culture, agriculture, and extension services.

2019

MSU Extension and MANAGE organized the international conference “Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services: Innovation to Impact” on February 12-14, 2019 at MANAGE in Hyderabad, India. The conference represented more than 100 extension leaders and specialists from various states of India, public and private institutions, and NGOs. Fifteen MSU Extension representatives, many MANAGE faculty, and four senior representatives from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were among the attendees. Based on the conference theme it was decided that a joint book on innovations in Extension, Innovations in Agricultural Extension, would be written by various authors and jointly published by MSU Extension and MANAGE.

2018

MSU Extension and MANAGE jointly hosted the International workshop, “Collective Action for Development through Agricultural Extension and Linking Farmers to Markets” on February 19 - 23, 2018 at MANAGE, in Hyderabad, India. More than 90 participants from across Indian states and nine specialists from MSU Extension attended.

In September of 2018, five delegates from India visited MSU for eight days for a program including lectures, workshops, discussions, and site visits on the MSU Extension system and agriculture in Michigan. 

2017
