Northeastern US: Virtual Field Tour Video Series

The FCCP, alongside the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science (NIACS), a collaborative, multi-institutional partnership led by the USDA Forest Service, produced a short video series on a virtual tour of the University of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS). The videos are related to the US Regions: Forest Carbon & Climate Adaptation courses.

There are 6 videos in the series:

This video series was supported in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Renewable Resources Extension Act program grant and the USDA Forest Service Eastern Region State, Private, and Tribal Forestry.

The findings and conclusions in this preliminary publication have not been formally disseminated by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and should not be construed to represent any agency determination or policy.

FCCP + USFS Office of Sustainability and Climate

The FCCP partnered with the US Forest Service’s Office of Sustainability and Climate to develop a series of short videos that break down the complex interactions and dynamics of forests and carbon. The videos range from forest carbon interactions at the individual tree level and scale up to landscape-level interactions with atmospheric carbon and how carbon sinks and sources can change over time. In total, four short, animated videos were developed: The Natural Boom & Bust Cycle of Forest Carbon, Carbon Cycle: The Closed Loop of Forest Carbon in the Atmosphere, Carbon Processes: Sources & Storage, Carbon in Time and Space: A Spatial and Temporal View. FCCP Tree and Carbon Measurement Video Series

The FCCP has produced a free series of videos demonstrating various tree measurements and how to convert these field measurements into carbon measurements.

This series includes the following videos:
