About the GUE

Glassen Logo no background.pngThe Glassen Undergraduate Experience (GUE) was established in 2021 to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain direct professional experience in the Fisheries and Wildlife field early in their academic career. Students selected to the program work with a Fisheries and Wildlife faculty member (and often with a post-doctoral scholar or graduate student) to conduct a mentored research or outreach project. Students are paid an hourly wage with a cap of $3,000 per award. Survey data from students have shown that these kinds of hands-on experiences are often one of the most valued components of their college education.

Support for the Glassen Undergraduate Experience is provided by the Hal and Jean Glassen Wildlife Conservation and Stewardship Endowment Fund
