FW 101: Fisheries and Wildlife Ecology & Management
3 Credits, Summer Session 2
FW 101 is the gateway course for the FW major at MSU. Students learn how science, social science and management concepts are integrated to achieve sustainable use and conservation of fisheries and wildlife resources. Topics include features of land- and water-based ecosystems, methods for studying animal populations, and the importance of accounting for diverse human values related to natural resources.
FW 101 is for you if: you think you might want to major in FW; you are a life sciences major and want to learn more about conservation of animals; you’ve always enjoyed the outdoors and you want an elective related to your outdoor experiences.
