Japan

Month-Long

This is a life changing experience for our youth ages 12-18.

Michigan youth can travel to Japan for either 4 or 8 weeks in the summer. The summer 2022 travel dates are: 

  • July 13 - August 11, 2022 for the 4-week Homestay Program
  • June 15 - August 11, 2022 for the 8-week Nihongo Program

Please note: if you host a Japanese delegate in Michigan your child could possible stay with that delegate in Japan. Our program has supported many international friendships.  Participants are ages 12-18 years old.  Visit States' 4-H website for more information: www.states4hexchange.org

Summer 2022 - 

  • Scholarships available to 4-H youth
  • $1,500 deposit is due January 15, 2022 for 4-week program and $2,000 due for 8-week program.
  • Applications will be accepted for 2022 Summer Travel to Japan September 1 through November 1, 2021.

Academic Year

Academic Year Outbound Program to Japan: Live with a LEX/Hippo Club Japanese family and attend Japanese school. Dates are August 2022 to July 2023. Inquiry form due by December 2021. Application due by January, 2022. (Youth ages 15-18, who have not already graduated from high school).
