2024 Ballyneal/Prairie Dunes Dual Internship
The maintenance departments at Prairie Dunes CC and Ballyneal Golf Club are continuing to offer a
dual internship program this 2024 season. Accepted applicants would be splitting their time
between the two clubs over their internship period.
This internship gives students the chance to experience maintenance practices at two different
style clubs. Prairie Dunes was built in 1937 and sits on sandy-loam soil vs Ballyneal which was
built in 2005 and sits on hundreds of feet of sand.
Through a 3, 6, or 9 month internship, students will be able to experience differences between toro
and rainbird irrigation systems, high disease pressure vs minimal disease pressure, fescue/bent
management vs rye/blue/bent management and cart traffic vs no cart traffic.
An hourly wage that includes housing, uniforms, and playing privileges will be provided as a part
of the compensation package.
