Responsibilities:

  • Design Excellence: As a Landscape Architect/Designer at Great Oaks, you will play a vital role in creating designs for diverse projects, ranging from large residential estates and new home construction to subdivision designs, commercial offices, and public and institutional spaces.
  • Collaborative Conceptualization: Work closely with the design lead to conceptualize, finalize, and detail outdoor environments that align with our clients' visions and expectations.
  • Site Analysis and Layout: Conduct site analysis, occasional site layouts, and participate in client meetings, providing opportunities to work outdoors in the natural environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Join a tight-knit group of other landscape architects and designers, contributing to the continued growth and success of Great Oaks Landscape.

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: Proven experience as a Landscape Designer/Architect, demonstrating a strong portfolio of innovative and high-quality projects.
  • Design Skills: Proficient in conceptualization, finalization, and detailing of landscape designs, with an eye for creativity and timelessness.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work closely with a design lead and contribute effectively to a team of talented professionals.
  • Client Interaction: Comfortable participating in client meetings to understand their needs and translate them into exceptional design solutions.

 

Strengths Required

  • Proficiency with computers and design programs.
  • Strong computer rendering skills.
  • Knowledge of Hardscape materials and use.
  • Knowledge of horticulture and plant material.
  • Knowledgeable in creating construction details as well as plant design.
  • Strong communication and organizational ability
  • Must be able to manage time and projects effectively.
  • Site measuring.
  • Design-build experience is a plus. 
  • Strong hand graphics a plus.
  • Presentation packages, 3D modeling and animation.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a similar program (a design-focused degree, as opposed to research) is required.
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience (or more) in a landscape architecture or design build form.
