The MSU Student Organic Farm:
The MSU Student Organic Farm is a 15-acre educational farm just south of campus. We grow vegetables, fruits, and flowers and have a handful of honeybee hives on the farm.

Crew Member / Intern:
The Crew Member position at SOF is an immersive, hands-on working and learning experience in diverse organic vegetable production. Crew Members perform all necessary farm labor tasks, including seeding, transplanting, irrigation, weeding, harvest and more. We are looking for hard working, dependable students who take on new skills and tasks with enthusiasm and a desire to learn. Leadership opportunities in the various areas of the farm are available to those who show initiative and interest. To make this position an Academic Internship, students can pursue a project of interest (and of use to the farm) agreed upon by managers at the start of the season.
Crew Members start at $10 with raises based on performance. Free produce is available daily, as well as transplants for your garden. The SOF is a positive work environment in which crew members gain skills in horticulture, problem solving, systems thinking, lean farming principles, and working in a team.
Must be an undergraduate MSU Student; Willing to work hard in various areas of the farm; Excellent communications skills; Organized and efficient in a busy environment with many moving parts; ability to learn quickly and think critically about problem solving in a fast environment.
