The Horticulture Teaching and Research Center is located 3 miles from MSU's main campus. The majority of the projects works with fruit, vegetables and ornamental teaching and research projects.
This job is physical and varied. Tractor driving, pulling weeds, moving equipment, repair work, mowing, fruit and vegetable harvest. Working with researchers and their technicians on research projects primarily in the Horticulture and Entomology fields.
We are looking for self-starting people who take direction well and have open availability (3+ days a week).
Willingness to work hard and a can-do attitude is helpful.
Typical workday is 8am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
Flexible start and end dates.
There is the potential to continue through the school year or just the summer months.
Any experience with: tractors, farm equipment, irrigation, pesticides, power tools, plants, lawn care, fruit or vegetable harvesting, mechanical, electrical or plumbing work, is a plus. Even if you don’t have much experience in a farm setting, these traits are helpful and valuable to our team.
