The Grower-Manager is a “hands on” position responsible for growing young plants and or stock plants to support research and development. A successful grower works well with other departments and has excellent organization and communication skills. They assist in generating crop plans and offer creative solutions to problems. The grower stays current with the latest plant production technologies and assists in generating new ideas to improve production efficiencies

Requirements

Must be able to perform duties in a consistent manner, accurately, timely, safely and at the lowest cost to the company. Some computer knowledge of both office and greenhouse environmental computers is helpful. General plant propagation techniques and protocols

Use of equipment commonly found in a greenhouse environment.

Ability to learn and understand growing media, formulations of pesticides and fertilizers and the proper use and application of plant growth regulators (PGR).
