Background of Functional Area  

The Global Agricultural Research team provides values by researching and providing novel botanicals with meaninging activity to fuel company’s product piple and utilize state of the art Nutrilite Organic farms. Great opportunity to work cross-functionally and learn about the heart of Ag Research.


Project Description 

Conduct basic agricultural development programs to assist with on-going R&D operations at the farm level. Lead a project which will focus on identifying and studying a design of experiment on one or more botanicals of interest. The project will be looking into Controlled Environment Agriculture (Hydroponics, Aeroponics, etc) along with conventional farming options. The intern will be provided guidance by a technical mentor but should be capable of working independently to drive the internship.


Candidate Development 

An understanding of Agriculture and horticulture practices or growing fruits, vegetables and flowers, exposure to cross-functional and global team members, development of personal accountability, organization and time management, wet lab skills such as handling glassware, weighing material and measuring volatile oils, exposure to different cultures such as Mexican culture; Spanish-speaking is a bonus.


Desired Degree 

Pursuing M.S or Ph.D degree in Agronomy, Plant Biology, Biology, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture or Horticulture.


Desired Skills 

Possesses a know-how of horticultural practices, or growing fruits, vegetables and flowers, interest in independent studies of advanced plant biology, science and horticulture, ability to think crticially, analyze data, and make appropriate recommendations, accountability of delivering results, be able to manage time for both field and office work, skills in MS word and MS Excel for data analysis is required, skills in R statistical software is preferred, but not required.


*This is a summer 2019 internship; qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern. This position is located in Buena Park, CA.
