The primary function of the role is to maintain existing irrigation systems to a high standard by assessing, troubleshooting, repairing, and providing proactive recommendations to improve system performance.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Start-up and programming of irrigation systems, winterizing
  • Assessing system functionality and suggesting system improvements
  • System repairs and installation of new zones, zone extensions etc.
  • Maintaining a work vehicle, stocking parts
  • Liaise with clients to access systems
  • Daily paperwork
  • Ensure safe work practices

Qualifications:

We are seeking a Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader for a summer internship work experience.

The primary function of the role is to lead and train happy teams to maintain existing landscapes efficiently to a high standard.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain landscapes in various settings (HOA, commercial) to a high standard
  • Plan and organize daily tasks for your crew and communicate plans and progress reports to management
  • Provide training, instruction, and feedback to staff and ensure safe work practices
  • Perform various landscaping tasks (lawn care, pruning, bedwork, pesticide application, planting, etc.) and operate equipment (mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, etc.)
  • Provide friendly, helpful, professional customer service
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately and submit on time
  • Operate and maintain a work truck, stock tools, materials, and equipment
  • Continually upgrade horticultural knowledge through in-house and outside education
  • Work cooperatively to foster a harmonious working relationship with all co-workers and other departments

Qualifications:

  • Practical experience and knowledge in maintaining landscapes and leading crews
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and deliver timely results

We are seeking a Softscape Installation Crew Leader and Landscape Installation Technician for a summer internship work experience.

The primary function of the role is to lead and train happy teams to install landscapes efficiently to a high standard.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Install high quality soft (plant, soil, sod, stone installation, renovation pruning, occasional maintenance type work) and hard landscapes (pavers, retaining walls, wood work, irrigation)
  • Logistics of materials/equipment for each job, and plan and organize daily tasks for your crew
  • Communicate plans and progress reports to management
  • Provide training, instruction and feedback to staff, and ensure safe work practices
  • Operate equipment (paver saw, sod cutter, skill saw, plate compactor etc.)
  • Provide friendly, helpful, professional customer service
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately and submit on time
  • Operate and maintain a work truck, stock tools, materials and equipment
  • Work cooperatively to foster a harmonious working relationship with all co-workers and other departments

Qualifications:

  • Practical experience and knowledge installing soft and hard landscapes and leading crews
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable, and positive and professional team attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and deliver timely results
  • Customer service experience an asset
