Job Description:

Position Overview:
The Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is seeking a dedicated undergraduate student to assist in the development and enhancement of the PSEP website content and the educational materials required for pesticide safety training and testing. This position requires a highly organized individual with exceptional skills in PowerPoint presentation creation, strong written communication abilities, and a preference for web design and video production skills. Students staying to work in the summer are preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the PSEP team to develop and update content for the PSEP website and training materials.
  • Create engaging and informative PowerPoint presentations for educational purposes.
  • Assist in crafting written content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with safety regulations.
  • Contribute to web design tasks, including content layout and visual enhancements for the PSEP website.
  • Assist in video production tasks, including filming, editing, and integrating videos into training materials.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student, preferably majoring in Agricultural Communication or a related field such as Agricultural, Food, and Resources Economics; Agricultural, Food, and Natural Resources Education; and Community Sustainability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation creation.
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Preferred skills in web design (i.e., MSU provide free training on website content edit and maintenance).
  • Preferred experience or interest in video production, including filming and video editing software.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and to work independently, however the successful candidate will work closely to the PSEP Coordinator.

Hours and Schedule:

  • Part-time: 10 hours per week during the academic year.
  • Full-time in the summer: 40 hours per week.

Compensation:
Hourly wage: $17/hr
