Plant Health Care Internship

Do you enjoy being outside, collaborating in a team environment, and caring for a multitude of tree species? A Plant Health Care Internship may be a great fit for you. We are searching for someone who is driven, takes initiative, and will thrive in the fast-paced PHC world!

Many of our past Plant Health Care interns have become permanent Guardian team members. Our internships provide a comprehensive view into a regular PHC season, while allowing you to learn new skills and see how great Guardian is.

 

Ideal candidates for this position will meet the following qualifications:

  • Michigan Pesticide Applicators License prior to beginning work (Core & 3B)
  • Chauffeur's License (or ability to obtain one quickly)
  • Willing and able to work 8-10 days in adverse weather conditions when necessary
  • Sharp, creative, collaborative, and supportive
  • Motivated to learn, advance, achieve goals, and contribute to a team
  • Interested in trees, working hard, being outdoors, climbing, physics, biology, chemistry, engineering, problem solving, or art
  • Physically fit and athletic
  • Working on an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (any major in a field related to arboriculture is ideal, but not required)

 

Wage & Benefits:

  • $18 - $21/hr. introductory wage depending on skills, experience, credentials, resume, references, etc.
  • Continuing education (in-house, seminars, conferences, competitions, etc.)
  • Up to $500 per month housing stipend for the duration of internship (generally, May-August depending on individual schedules)
