Summer Field Assistant Opportunity Available
The Edger Lab in the Department of Horticulture seeks to hire 2-3 field assistants to help
with blueberry field work and plant care this summer. Daily activities will focus on field
work, including but not limited to weeding, watering, and transplanting. Scheduling can
be agreed upon in consultation with the persons hired but need to work as a team.
Duration: Early April to late August 2024.
Salary: $17/hr for the first month with the potential to increase.
Location: South campus horticulture farms.
Required Qualifications:
● Ability to work outside on uneven terrain for multiple hours at a time
● Ability to lift 40 lbs daily
● Ability to sustain physical activity in summer heat
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
● Ability to work as an effective team member
● Attention to details and protocols
● No previous experience required
● 20-35 hrs per week
