Tree Care Apprentice

Do you appreciate trees? Enjoy combining physical and mental work? Working as a member of a team in an outdoor setting? If so, then this position could be for you. We are looking to hire motivated individuals to begin full-time careers in the exciting field of arboriculture and would love the opportunity to speak with you about joining our company to become an arborist.

An arborist is someone trained in the art and science of planting, caring for, maintaining, and removing individual trees, much like a doctor cares for individual patients. Come learn to climb trees from some of the top tree climbers in the state of Michigan. No day is the same as another. No tree is the same as another. No issue is exactly the same as another.

Skip the gym and the cubicle and give arboriculture a shot.

Ideal candidates for this position will meet the following qualifications:

Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one quickly
ISA Certified Arborist *not required but preferred*
Physically fit and athletic
Willing and able to work 8-10 days in adverse weather conditions when necessary
Sharp, creative, collaborative, and supportive
Motivated to learn, advance, achieve goals, and contribute to a team
Interested in trees, working hard, being outdoors, climbing, physics, biology, chemistry, engineering, problem solving, or art
College degree (any major although a major in field related to arboriculture is ideal)

Wage & Benefits:

$17 - $23/hr. introductory wage depending on skills, experience, credentials, resume, references,
Holiday & vacation pay
