Thank you for your interest in Kent County MSU Extension 4-H!  To begin, consult the list of open clubs, focus or project areas that might be of interest to you personally or for your youth.  There are programs for youth from 5-19 years of age.  For children 5 to 7, there is Cloverbuds (Explorers) club.  For more specific questions and information, you can contact one of the Kent County 4-H Program Coordinators listed below:

Alexis Garbo - garboale@msu.edu or call (616) 632-7870

Program Coordinators are located at the Kent County MSU Extension office, 775 Ball Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, MI  49503 and office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  To work with youth and volunteers, our Program Coordinators are often in and out of the office.  If you make contact by phone, stop into the office or send an email, please be sure to leave your name, contact information, age of youth and what types of educational areas or projects might be of interest.

Interested in volunteering?  When you consult the list of available clubs or focus/project areas we have available and you don't see something that fits for your youth, consider a volunteer opportunity.  You could become a project leader within an existing club by just adding a new project to that club or you could begin a new club as a club leader or co-leader.  Bring your ideas and talk to one of the Kent County 4-H Program Coordinators listed above.  Don't see a project you are interested in?  Contact one of the Kent County 4-H Program Coordinators.

All volunteers working with youth have to complete a "Volunteer Selection Process", which also includes background screening.
