Extension Educational bulletins and publications are sold in the Kent County Extension Office, however, it is best to call ahead for availability of the bulletin you are looking for. You can also research and order bulletins at MSUE Bookstore.

When calling the 1-888-678-3464 number, please make sure to choose Option #1 (during growing season) and Option #2 (during off season) for the Lawn and Garden Hotline.
Option #1 - Growing Season (April – September): The Hotline is open on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Kent County.
Option #2 - Off Season (October – March): The Hotline is open on Tuesdays only from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Kent County.
The Kent County Extension office charges a $5 diagnostic fee for analyzing a specimen.

Manuals for Certification Training
- Manuals can be purchased at the office, however, it is suggested that you call ahead to make sure they are in stock.
- Manuals can also be purchased online with a credit card at the National Pesticide Safety Education Center.
Homeowner Soil Test Kit
Kits are available at the Kent County Extension Office to purchase for $25 or order online from MSUE Bookstore – Bulletin E-3154. If you order online through the MSUE Bookstore, you can use a credit card.
Commercial Soil Testing
Soil boxes for sample collection cannot be ordered online, but can be purchased at the office for $12 each. You will receive a soil sample information form to complete and send with your samples to the MSU Soil and Plant Nutrient Laboratory.
