Farming is tough.
From weather to equipment breakdowns, there are a lot of things that can cause stress. Researchers at Michigan State University Extension are conducting a research study to learn more about struggles Michigan farmers experience and what types of information may help. This study will take place online and via text messages. If you are eligible to participate, you will be assigned to one of two groups. Both groups will complete two online surveys 12 weeks apart and be compensated with a $20 Amazon e-gift card for each survey. One group will also receive several text messages a week about stress management and coping on the farm for 12 weeks. A small number of these participants will be chosen at random at the end of the study to participate in a 30-minute phone interview, for which they will be compensated with a $20 Amazon e-gift card.
