MY VEGO'S LLC Story
My Vego's (vegan on-the-go) startup, is an exclusively 100% vegan, allergen-free product brand initiating our first launch within the baked goods market, starting with ready-to-eat, packaged, and frozen muffins.
It all started with a planted seed of curiosity – how should I be fueling my temple? How do I feel my best? What would it be like to eat exclusively vegan? No pun intended. Back in 2015, co-founder Paige, decided to embark on the journey of transitioning into a 100% vegan diet/lifestyle. Early on, she quickly became aware that if she were to take on and maintain this journey, she would need to learn how, and what, to cook/prepare. This ignited a stumbling discovery of an unknown passion of Paige's, and that is, the artistry of the kitchen and the beauty behind cooking and baking methods. By 2016, Paige had started envisioning and dreaming up a future vegan business, giving it the name, My Vego's, in short, for vegan on-the-go.
Paige and Danielle met in the summer of 2020; it was six months into a global pandemic, and with gyms closed, Danielle's husband Dom who is in the fitness industry, was hosting free, outside workouts at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Grand Rapids. Paige happened across a workout one day and quickly became a weekly regular. She met Danielle shortly thereafter, attending a workout, with her then 1 year-old son Wade strapped to her back, and her almost four year-old daughter Maizie, striding right alongside mimicking her momma and listening to her dad, Coach Dom's, instructions.
It was Danielle who first ignited the partner's vegan, allergen-free adventure, expressing her journey with son Wade, who very early on, was diagnosed severely allergic to the top eight allergens, experiencing severe and frequent breakouts. By necessity, Danielle had to fundamentally shift the ways in which she ate (due to breastfeeding), purchased, prepared, and served meals for her son and entire family; forced in a position of having to scrutinize every line-item of every label to ensure the safety of her child. With her allergen alertness and Paige's vegan journey, the two aligned their goals and began creating, preparing, and baking 100% vegan, allergen-free muffins. The ladies have since adopted their internal 'Wade Standard' - ensuring label transparency and exclusively using vegan and allergen-free ingredients.

My Vego’s is in the start-up phase and yet to be in operation. Located within the incubator kitchen program of Grand Rapids Downtown Market located at 435 Ionia Ave. SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Our legal entity is structured as a limited liability corporation in the state of Michigan as of February, 2021.

100% vegan, allergen-free ingredients, & sugar-free classic and specialty muffins. Muffins will be available in the following units and sizes upon launch - 12pk minis, 4pk standard, individual jumbo, and individual mini muffin loafs. We will launch with a 12-flavored menu upon start-up, including the following classic flavors: (1) blueberry lemon zest, (2) raspberry oat crumble, (3) cinnamon roll, (4) triple chocolate zucchini, (5) cinnamon blueberry apricot, (6) apple carrot with stuffed dates, (7) sunbutter banana with stuffed jelly & dill pickle, and (8) carrot cake; the following specialty flavors: (9) veggie potato with gravy, (10) garlic pesto pasta, (11) jalapeno corn chowder, and (12) breakfast taco.
The company has not completed all necessary tests on their products and do not use the 2016 nutritional values or contain GS1 barcodes. The company currently does not have placement in retail establishments but is willing to distribute across Michigan and works with a few distributors.
