Teta Foods Story

In 2009 Tarek Abouljoud, the founder of Teta Foods, thought that bringing authentic Middle Eastern dressings and condiments to retail stores would have great potential because this niche did not really exist at the time. With the growing popularity of Middle Eastern restaurants, he recognized that consumers were seeking out this type of food because of its delicious flavor and dietary benefits. He decided to do an extensive feasibility study about it. After the study was done, it was realized that there would be major market potential for it.
Nine months after the market study and product development (May of 2010), Teta Foods launched its first set of core products which are: Fattoush Dressing, Tahini Dressing, Shawarma Marinade, Shish Tawook Marinade, and Garlic Spread. The number of retail stores selling Teta Foods products has increased steadily over the years. This has allowed Teta Foods to evolve into becoming a manufacturer of dressings and condiments that are influenced by international flavors.

Today, Teta Foods has nine products that include Al Pastor Sauce, Tandoori Marinade, Amba Sauce, as well as our first five core products mentioned above. Teta Foods is bringing a new trend of healthy and easy international cooking to the retail market with convenient products made with high quality ingredients.

The company has completed all necessary tests on their products and use the 2016 nutritional values. Their products contain GS1 barcodes. The company currently has placement in several retail establishments across Michigan and works with a few distributors.
