Journal of Bacteriology MMPC edition

Hello MMPC attendees,

As confirmed speakers and poster presenters at the Midwest Microbial Pathogenesis Conference, and in consultation with the meeting co-chairs Chris Waters and Neal Hammer, I am writing to let you know that I am serving as the Editor for a special issue of the Journal of Bacteriology focusing on this meeting. 

Speakers and poster presenters at MMPC would have the opportunity to submit original research or a mini-review to JB related to their meeting presentations. These papers, along with a conference‐related cover image and a meeting review, would be bundled in a special issue of JB. All submissions for this issue go through the same rigorous review process that is typical of papers in JB. 

As an example, please see the special meeting issue for the 7th ASM Conference on Biofilms (http://jb.asm.org/content/198/19.toc). 

 I am proposing a submission deadline of December 1, 2021. Papers would go through the normal submission and review process (https://jb.msubmit.net/). My average days‐to‐first‐decision (i.e., when you submit until when I send the first decision letter) is 24 days. So, I would make sure submissions would move along quickly.
