Awards

The MSU Packaging Alumni Association annually recognizes Spartan Alumni who positively reflect and enhance the prestige of Michigan State University’s School of Packaging and the Packaging profession in four categories.  Nominations are due each year by June 1.

These awards are presented in April each year at MSU.

Hall of Fame Award

Awarded to MSU School of Packaging Alumni who have differentiated themselves by obtaining the highest level of professional accomplishment.

Paul Schmidt Service Award

Presented to Michigan State School of Packaging Alumni who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer service to Michigan State University’s School of Packaging and/or meritorious service to the packaging community on a local, state, national or international level.

Young Alumni Award

Awarded to Michigan State School of Packaging Alumni age 40 or younger who have distinguished themselves through a high level of accomplishment early in their career.  These individuals demonstrate a commitment to the MSU School of Packaging through outstanding continuous volunteer service on behalf of the university and/or participation and leadership in meritorious public service on a local, state, national or international level.

Innovation Award

Presented to a Michigan State School of Packaging Alumni who has made a specific, definable contribution to the advancement of package technology. This contribution can range from the invention of a new consumer product/package to a unique manufacturing process or to significant environmental stewardship.
