Welcome to day 3!

STEAM: Shelter Building

Today, each pepper group headed out to the forest/field to continue building their shelter. They brainstormed different ways they could build it to protect their group for the night if they were out on a long hike in the woods. They got very creative!

Solar S’mores

YUM! Campers built a mini oven from a cardboard box with tinfoil to help heat the s’mores in the sun. Once they finished, everyone drew their mini oven which was so cute!

Garden Kitchen: Cream of wheat & hearty slaw

This is everyone’s favorite part of the day. Today they tried a hot cereal, cream of wheat today. They loved the way you could make it sweet, savory, or spicy. Some even wanted seconds. Our Garden Kitchen leader, Kali got them to try kale! It was made into a yummy hearty coleslaw.

Corn Hole Target Practice

To spend the afternoon, campers played a fun game of corn hole! They practiced their aim towards the board and did so well!

Chicken Time

As an animal chore, campers got to spend time with our chickens and collect some eggs! Many of the chickens let the campers pick them up and many were on a mission to catch some.

Predators and Prey

Players are either take the roles of herbivores, omnivores, or carnivores. Omnivores can eat herbivores, carnivores can eat both omnivores and herbivores, and herbivores can't eat anyone. Then they’re given “life tags” or chips. It’s like a game of tag and campers love playing this game!

Survival Maze

With a 12 x 12 grid made from tape campers are to enter the maze one at a time moving either diagonally, forward, left, or right one square. It’s a good teamwork game to help campers communicate with each other. The game leader helps everyone by making sure they’re going down the correct path.
