Brian Dynda receives 2019 MSU Packaging Alumni Association Paul Schmidt Service Award.

Brian Dynda graduated from the MSU School of Packaging in December 1995. Focusing mainly on automotive packaging, he is currently a packaging sales engineer at Doug Brown Packaging Products in Troy, Michigan. He has worked there for 15 years and has had the full support of ownership to give back to MSU. Currently, Doug Brown Packaging is a gold level sponsor and is one of the longest standing supporters of the MSUPAA.

He was officially elected to the board in 2011. He served on the communication/IT committee, which during his time, rebranded the MSUPAA and helped update the MSUPAA with the new website. He was voted vice president of the board in 2013 and led the events committee for 3 years. He was proudly elected president of the strongest alumni association group at MSU and served until his two terms were up in 2016. During his time as vice president and president, the MSUPAA put its mark on quite a few events – Sparty at Pack Expo in Chicago being the highlight! Other highlights include the continuous growth of fundraising, which allowed for an increase in student scholarships and dedicated funds for undergraduate research. Brian currently lives in Perrysburg, Ohio, with his wife, Karen (MSU ‘96), and three children: Grace, Molly and Joe. He will continue to provide support to the board in the future to keep the MSU School of Packaging the best in the world.
