Celebrate MSU Extension’s 4-H youth at the 13th annual 4-H Day at the Breslin

MSU Extension's annual 4-H Day at the Breslin to take place Jan. 20, 2018 at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center.

EAST LANSING, MICH. – Michigan State University (MSU) Extension invites 4-H Youth Development families, volunteers and staff members to gather at MSU’s Jack Breslin Student Events Center for 4-H Day at the Breslin on Jan. 20, 2018. Participants will cheer on the MSU women’s basketball team as they take on the Indiana Hoosiers.

This annual event is a celebration of the impact 4-H has made and continues to make in the community through MSU Extension support, volunteers and programs. Attendance is free for 4-H members and their families, 4-H volunteers, and MSU Extension staff members and their families. For those interested in attending, contact your local MSU Extension office to reserve tickets for the family-oriented event.

“Michigan 4-H relies on the dedication of staff, volunteers and youth to develop a future generation of true leaders,” said Julie Chapin, director of MSU Extension children and youth programs. “4-H Day at the Breslin recognizes the individuals that help 4-H youth grow and celebrates the young leaders who are building their life skills through the program.”

Breslin Center doors will open at 2:30 p.m. for MSU Extension guests, allowing them an opportunity to mingle and check out 4-H booths across the concourse. These booths will give participants a chance to explore various 4-H activities, interests and opportunities while learning more about the impact 4-H makes in the community. Sparty will also attend and be available to take photos prior to the game.

The basketball game will begin at 4 p.m. Participants are encouraged to show their pride and wear green and white 4-H or MSU Extension apparel. 4-H will be showcased during the halftime show as a group of 4-H youth will lead the crowd in reciting the 4-H pledge.

Upon arrival, guests should enter the Breslin Center through the Southwest Harrison Gate. Due to the increased security at all MSU athletic events, the Breslin Center is now practicing a no-bag policy, so participants should plan accordingly. Parking is free for all school buses and $20 for all other buses. Car parking costs $5.
