Looking for some additional information on weeds and weed management in field crops, check out Michigan State University’s official Weed Science website www.MSUWeeds.com. This website offers that latest newsletter articles on weed management, a listing of weed science events including the 2010 MSU Weed Tour on June 30, a section on the biology and control of many of Michigan’s worst weeds, and a research section that highlights the research results from field trials conducted at MSU from 2006 to the present. One of the most useful sections of this website is the publication section, which houses results from the MSU Commercial Comparisons trials in corn, soybean and no-till soybean, and the 2010 Weed Control Guide for Field Crops (E-434). This section can be particularly useful if you are looking for weed management options or even needing to answer questions on herbicide use rates, control ratings or rotation restriction. One of the unique features of this website is the blog that showcases the latest happenings in MSU weed science research. If you are a big fan of Twitter, there is even an option for you. There is a link to follow Dr. Wesley Everman’s tweets on significant agricultural issues.
