Dr Kurt Thelen named American Society of Agronomy Fellow

Dr Kurt Thelen has been Awarded the Highest ASA Recognition

The American Society of Agronomy has recognized PSM professor Dr. Kurt Thelen for his research career in developing bioenergy feedstock production systems that safeguard soil, air, and water quality, and enhance landscape biodiversity ASA Fellow is the highest recognition bestowed by the American Society of Agronomy. Members of the Society nominate worthy colleagues based on their professional achievements and meritorious service. 

“I think it’s important to find enjoyment in your work and pass it along to others,” Thelen says. “ I am blessed to work with outstanding grad students, post docs, technicians, staff, other faculty, and advisors, and benefit tremendously from the support of family and friends.  All these people bring joy to my work and this type of award is really an acknowledgement of the level of support and assistance I’ve received from all of them.”

Dr Thelen’s award will be formally presented at the ASA Awards Ceremony on November 8, 2022 during the scientific society’s Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. The annual awards are presented for outstanding contributions to agronomy through education, national and international service, and research.
