The Michigan State University Extension - Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) Conference program was created in Michigan approximately 8 years ago to educate communities on the tools and resources available to grow entrepreneurship in their communities.

This year the conference will be in two locations: Houghton/Hancock on Oct. 7-8 and Sturgis on Oct. 21-22, Michigan.

This CEC program is an excellent tool for those communities that are looking to build support and capacity for entrepreneurship in their town, but lack the tools to do it. Participation in this effort will give a community "an instant committee" that is fired up and armed with tools that can make a difference immediately.

We seek to draw small teams made up of various community organizations (business, education, government, chamber, service, economic developers, etc.) who are interested in creating an entrepreneurial friendly atmosphere. When they attend the conference together, hear the same message and catch the excitement, the impact is resounding.
