Environmental education workshops for youth leaders and teachers
Explore how to infuse environmental education in your lessons and activities with youth with “Show on the Road” workshops
What does shopping have to do with the environment? Isn’t nature study or ecology the same as environmental education? What is an environmental issue? How can I help the environment? These questions and more will be answered at the environmental education “Show on the Road” workshops offered by Michigan State University Extension at various locations around the state. If you are exploring ways to incorporate environmental education activities into your classroom, afterschool program or 4-H program, this workshop is a great place to start!
The “Show on the Road” workshops will explain the meaning of environmental education and identify the goals that drive environmental education lessons and programming. From awareness to action, each goal will be explained, discussed and reviewed to help create a better understanding of how to implement lessons and activities. Participants will be engaged in meaningful activities that will provide examples and showcase ways to teach environmental education.
These workshops will be a hands-on, experiential format that will keep participants actively involved. Come explore and discover how to incorporate environmental education into your lessons and activities with youth and leave inspired to help youth be a difference maker in our changing world. All participants will leave with new knowledge and information, as well as valuable resource materials that will help you teach youth to make our world a better place to live!
