EPA Issues final cancellation order for Movento™

Editor’s note: This article is from the archives of the MSU Crop Advisory Team Alerts. Check the label of any pesticide referenced to ensure your use is included.

Movento (91) (spirotetramat) belongs to a new class of insecticides called the tetramic acid derivatives, and was registered in pome fruits, stone fruits and grapes for control of aphids, scale insects, mealy bugs, phylloxera and pear psylla. The EPA Final Cancellation Order for Movento states that it is legal for the distribution channel to sell and distribute Movento which is currently in their possession. This order supersedes EPA’s Interim Cancellation Order issued on March 12, 2010. Additionally, the order reaffirms that growers can continue to use Movento according to the previously approved labeling. A copy of EPA's final cancellation order can be found at http://www.epa.gov/opprd001/factsheets/spirotetramat-final-cancl-order.pdf. EPA has already confirmed that all tolerances relating to spirotetramat-treated commodities are unaffected.
