Field day covering land use issues to be held in Berrien County

Join us July 21 for an on-farm field day that will help you explore today’s decisions for tomorrow’s generations.

Blue Jay Farms, located at 15205 South Pardee Road in Three Oaks, will host a land use field day titled Got Land? Today’s Decisions for Tomorrow’s Generations from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on July 21.

The meeting is sponsored by the Berrien Conservation District, Berrien County Farm Bureau and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The meeting will cover Farm Bill Programs, MAEAP phase I and new legislation, Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Farmers CARE Program, pesticide storage and handling, conservation easements, Clean Sweep, integrated pest management update and tissue testing, cover crops, crop rotation, no-till drill demo, wetland restoration and forestland restoration. One MAEAP phase I credit is available for this meeting, RUP credits have been applied for.

The meeting cost is $5 per person and includes a dinner of fried chicken and roast beef. Interested persons should RSVP by Friday, July 15 to the Berrien County Conservation District Office at 1-269-471-9111 ext. 5.
