Food Science Food Product Development Team took first place at the 2019 IFTSA

MSU's Food Science Food Product Development Team took first place at the 2019 IFTSA Wrigley Mars Food Product Development Competition. It is part of the Institute of Food Technology's National Convention held in New Orleans this year (June 2 - June 5). The product is "TryDough", an Asian-themed meal kit to prepare tender dumplings, fluffy steamed bao, or crispy Chinese pancakes from one dough! Veggie filling packs 20 g of plant-based protein into every serving, and Sweet Heat sauce adds notes of savory soy, garlic, sesame, and just a hint of heat to every bite. Team Co-Captains: Kaylan Hayman (BS), Ran Tao (MS), and Karl Seiwert (MS), guided by Edward Szczygiel (Graduate Student Advisor) and Dr. Sungeun Cho (Faculty Advisor).
