The Food Bank Council of Michigan is hosting free trainings based on Michigan's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Any organization, staff member or individual that is able and willing to assist their clients with SNAP is eligible for the free training. The session lasts about an hour, and participants will learn background information on the program and different policies, eligibility requirements for receiving food assistance, how to help SNAP recipients maximize their benefits and also about the various situations people run into in when applying for or using SNAP. Participants will also learn how to access the online MIBridges system and help potential SNAP recipients who may not have access to a computer apply for food assistance, and receive a free detailed Michigan food assistance reference manual.

Those interested in being trained or have other questions can contact Ben Nyhoff at 517-664-9904 or at bnyhoff@fbcmich.org.
