Gail Tavill receives 2017 Packaging Alumni Association Hall of Fame Award

Gail Tavill, A fiercely proud Spartan, obtained a bachelor’s degree from the School of Packaging in 1990. Gail has dedicated 10 years to serving the Packaging Alumni Association, acting two terms as president and leading the MSUPAA to all-time highs in fundraising to support student scholarships as well as programs at the School of Packaging.  Outside of the School of Packaging, a lifelong member of the MSU Alumni Association, Gail founded the MSU Alumni Club of Nebraska. As president of this regional club, she led the group to raise more funds for MSU during its first year of existence than any other MSU alumni club in history!

Professionally, Gail has been working in the food and beverage industry for over 25 years and is currently the vice president of R&D readiness, sustainability, nutrition and process engineering at Con Agra Foods. Gail has served in management roles during the majority of her career, helping to develop the careers of others who reported to her.

Outside of work, Gail continues to have a strong passion for sustainability. She is a board member of Forgotten Harvest, a Michigan-based food rescue organization, and a co-founder, board member and past president of the American Institute for Packaging and the Environment known as Ameripen.
