Grain and dairy producers can get marketing update

A commodity market update is set for Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Farm producers can take part in person or online.

Keeping track of current and potential trends that will impact future commodity markets is an important farm management practice. To provide farmers with some of the most current information, Michigan State University Extension is hosting a commodity update.

This program will offer both a live hosted site and a live streaming online webcast which participants can view from their individual computers at home or at work. Jim Hilker, Commodity Marketing Specialist at Michigan State University, will start out the program with a grains market update. Chris Wolf, Dairy Specialist at Michigan State University, will then cover the dairy market update. I will cover current topics related to farms located in the Saginaw Valley area of Michigan at the end of the webinar.

Thumb area farm producers are encouraged to join the live group on Tuesday, October 28 in the second floor conference room located at the Michigan State University Extension office, 171 Dawson Street, Sandusky, Michigan from 10 a.m. to Noon. Individuals who are not able to attend the group session in person can register by October 27 to take part in the live update session by linking in using our live internet webinar broadcast.

Registered participants will receive an email notice following the live broadcast that will provide them the link to view a recording of the meeting, providing them the flexibility to view the webinar whenever it best fits their schedule.
