The Design Problem

Design a decorative vanity light fixture for the restrooms of a high-end sushi restaurant.

Concept & Design Development

Based on the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies, interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world. The Astrology is an RGB LED lighting system that is available in two sizes and three colors. With a minimal aesthetic it is the perfect modern light fixture to serve as a focal point within a space. The Astrology is light weight, energy efficient and dimmable. White and Black lamps will be made of aluminum, while wood lamps will be 100% recycled bamboo. No matter which selection is chosen it will be guaranteed a sustainable choice.

Electrical Specifications

The LED light strip will be wired through the wall-mounted cylinders to the junction box. A dimming switch will be installed before the transformer. From the junction box the wires will extend to the main power source. Thermal effects, driver losses and optical inefficiencies all combine to reduce the efficacy of this LED luminaire. Considered collectively, these loss mechanisms can result in a decrease if efficacy of greater than 30%.
