In memory of Peter Diehl Stid

Longtime 4-H leader and avid 4-H supporter Peter Diehl Stid passed away on Mar. 24 at the age of 88. Stid was a life-long farmer who lived in Mason, Michigan.

Longtime 4-H leader and avid 4-H supporter Peter Diehl Stid passed away on Mar. 24 at the age of 88. Stid was a life-long farmer who lived in Mason, Mich,. for all of his life, apart from four years studying agricultural economics at MSU and his time in the U.S. Marine Corps. Along with his brother Joe, he developed Stid Brothers Farm over five decades, raising hogs, corn, wheat and soybeans. His life in farming brought him immense satisfaction.

Stid was also dedicated to his community. He served 16 years on the Mason Public Schools board. As a leader of the Skeeter Hill 4-H Club, Stid joined with local 4-H and FFA leaders to help young exhibitors show and sell their livestock at the Ingham County Fair. Later, he volunteered as a deliveryman for Meals on Wheels. Throughout his life, Stid looked after and enjoyed the company of his many friends and neighbors in Mason. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
