LAUREN COOPER SPEAKS AT THE 2022 ESA/CSEE CONFERENCE DISCUSSING RESEARCH ON CLIMATE-SMART FORESTRY

Lauren Cooper, FCCP Program Director, spoke at the 2022 Ecological Society of America / Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution (ESA/CSEE) Conference in Montréal, Québec, Canada. The session, “Understanding the ecological role of sustainably managed forests in maintaining complex ecosystem function in North America,” featured speakers from NCASI, SFI, CKWRI, University of Massachusetts Amherst, among others, and focused on climate-smart forestry planning and practices in managed forest landscapes to address climate change. The session was convened by Darren Sleep (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) and Kate Edwards (NRCAN).

She presented research that assessed how CSF might be deployed at a landscape scale by exploring current CSF concepts before presenting a broadened definition to engage multiple scales of decision-makers and intervention types. Learn more about the session here.
