Gladwin County Michigan State University Extension will host their February meeting on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016.

The Mid Michigan Cattle Network (MMCN), coordinated and supported by Michigan State University (MSU) Extension in Gladwin County will host their February meeting on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, starting at 7 p.m. located at the Gladwin County MSU Extension Office, 555 W Cedar Ave, Gladwin.

Morgan Composting from Sears, Michigan, will be the featured speaker for this event. They will be talking about their work in soil health, and nutrition using alternative fertility options. According to MSU Extension educator Kable Thurlow, “producers will not want to miss this meeting, as always, the MMCN meetings are informal, and lots of great discussion takes place.”

The MMCN gathers the third Thursday of every month, anyone is welcome to join them anytime. The group meets inside during the winter months, and in the field during the summer. March’s program will be held at MMCC in Harrison, and will feature Jason Rowntree from MSU with the latest research on grass fed beef production, and George Quackenbush from the Michigan Beef Industry Commission, getting producers feedback about Beef Checkoff changes coming to Michigan.
