EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources named Faith Brooks-Mason as the new alumni coordinator for the CANR External Relations effective Nov.5. Brooks-Mason replaces Kathryn Reed who held this position for 16 years and was promoted to director of donor relations and stewardship.

“Faith embraced our development world and learned all she could by attending numerous trainings across campus and is a valuable part of our development team,” said Tami Baumann, senior director of development. “She understands the history of CANR’s alumni engagement, but she will bring her own fresh perspective to all that we do.”

Brooks-Mason joined the CANR External Relations in April 2015, as the office secretary. She worked closely with Reed, designed communication pieces and interacted with donors and alumni in numerous settings.

“Our alumni love this university and this college, and I’m inspired by their Spartan stories and the difference they’re making,” Brooks-Mason said. “I’m excited to build on this office’s great engagement efforts, and I’m looking forward to expanding opportunities to engage our college’s young alums.”

Prior to joining MSU, Brooks-Mason worked for the Lansing Lugnuts as the group sales manager. She was responsible for hosting groups and planning immersive experiences for school groups and other game-day visitors.

Brooks-Mason received her B.A. from Ferris State University in marketing and public relations.

In the MSU CANR, students use science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business and creative design to tackle some of the world’s biggest problems related to food, health and the environment. Alumni and friends of the college are vital to helping it maintain and enhance the quality of programs, attract top-notch faculty and remain on the leading edge of research.
