MSU PSEP launches Pesticide Safety Webinar Series: The RUP/CCA CEU Credit Clinic to support Michigan applicators and certified crop advisers recertification
The MSU Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) introduces a new webinar series offering Michigan pesticide applicators RUP credits and up-to-date training on safety and regulations, with CEU opportunities available for certified crop advisers.
The Michigan State University (MSU) Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is pleased to announce its first Pesticide Safety Webinar Series: The RUP/CCA CEU Credit Clinic, created to help certified pesticide applicators and certified crop advisers (CCAs) across Michigan maintain their credentials and expand their knowledge of pesticide safety, application practices and regulatory updates.
This new online series will run throughout fall 2025 and winter 2026, with sessions offered on the first Monday and Wednesday of each month. A total of 10 webinars will be delivered via Zoom, offering a flexible and accessible option for Michigan pesticide applicators and CCAs to meet their recertification
The clinic launched in November 2025 with sessions offering restricted use pesticide (RUP) credits only. Beginning with the December sessions and continuing through the remainder of the series, certified crop adviser continuing education units (CEUs) were added to support CCAs seeking credits in relevant competency areas.
Each webinar date includes four distinct sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon, covering core topics, Bulletins Live! Two updates and category-specific content. Participants can earn up to four RUP credits per webinar date, and starting in December, qualifying sessions also offer CEUs for CCAs.
The RUP/CCA CEU Credit Clinic features presentations by knowledgeable experts with extensive experience in pesticide safety, application technology, integrated pest management and regulatory compliance. Each session is designed to be practical, educational and directly applicable to the daily work of certified applicators and advisers. The goal of this program is to make recertification more convenient while helping participants stay current on safe handling practices, Michigan pesticide laws, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements.
The fully online format allows participants to join from anywhere, interact with instructors and ask questions during live presentations. This series offers a high-quality, accessible way for Michigan pesticide applicators to earn RUP credits and for certified crop advisers to earn CEUs while strengthening their understanding of pesticide safety and regulatory responsibilities.
