MSU students receive awards from the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation for 2018-19

A total of $100,000 in scholarships were awarded to 25 MSU students

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation has awarded $100,000 in scholarships to 25 Michigan State University (MSU) students pursuing dairy industry-related programs of study for the 2018-19 academic year.

The following five MSU students were awarded $3,500 scholarships from the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation:

  • Austin Haywood, junior in Animal Science
  • Kelsie Letts, junior in Animal Science
  • Evelyn Okkema, senior in Agribusiness Management
  • Emily Schuurmans, senior in Animal Science
  • Elizabeth Venema, senior in Animal Science and Agribusiness Management

Five students pursuing a two-year certificate in the MSU Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) dairy management program each earned $2,000 scholarships from the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation: 

  • Jacob Arens
  • Kristen Burkhardt
  • Miriah Dershem
  • Jessica Nash
  • Lynn Olthof

Five first-year students were awarded the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation Freshman Scholarships worth $1,500:

  • Aaron Fahrner, Agribusiness Management
  • Janet Felbarth, Animal Science
  • Matthew Granskog, Ag Tech Dairy Management
  • Rose Kuperus, Ag Tech Livestock Industries
  • Wyatt Lamb, Ag Tech Dairy Management

The Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation oversees the largest scholarship program in the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and one of the largest at MSU.
