Comments

Development is proceeding nicely. Depending upon the cultivar, hops are approaching the wire in southern Michigan growing locations and 8-14 feet in the northern Lower Peninsula. Downy mildew pressure has been relatively low. Rose chafer and leaf hoppers are active and corn borers have been spotted. Growers should ensure plants are receiving adequate water. While disease pressure is down with the warm, dry weather, growers should be actively scouting for disease as well as insect pests.
