President Obama Briefed by Plant, Soil and Microbial Science Faculty

Dr. Dave Douches briefed President Obama about the Plant Science and Potato Breeding and Genetics programs at Michigan State University.
The Department of Plant Soil and Microbial Sciences is home to the regional headquarters for the National Plant Diagnostic Network, and SolCap a $5.4 million U.S. Department of Agriculture project managed by Douches that studies plant genetics for breeding new varieties of tomatoes and potatoes.
