Save the date: GLRI 2014 Saginaw Bay Watershed Conference coming in June

The Land Policy Institute’s Planning & Zoning Center at MSU is again hosting the Saginaw Bay Watershed Conference at Saginaw Valley State University’s Curtiss Hall in University Center, MI, on Thursday, June 12, 2014.

Building on the successful 2012 conference at which more than 200 participated, the Land Policy Institute’s Planning & Zoning Center at MSU is again hosting the Saginaw Bay Watershed Conference at Saginaw Valley State University’s Curtiss Hall in University Center, MI, on Thursday, June 12, 2014. This event is part of a second round of funding that the PZC received from the EPA Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) targeted to two watersheds in the Saginaw Bay: the Flint and Shiawassee River Watersheds.

This day-long conference will focus on tools and strategies for protecting water quality, the critical need for action and the development of local policies to protect and restore the Saginaw Bay. Stakeholder groups from around the Lake Huron Basin, and particularly the Saginaw Bay watershed, are encouraged to attend. Breakout sessions will showcase stakeholder projects addressing various water quality, land use and related restoration issues in the urban and rural parts of the Saginaw Basin.

Mark your calendar and check future editions of “Land Policy News” for updates on this conference. Learn more about the project at GLRI Saginaw Bay Watershed Project.
